I found myself somewhere on a moor in North Yorks, rain was chasing me and this was my first high climb on a singlespeed. Rain caught me, piss wet through and bitter cold. Enjoyed it.
on some rolling terrain I'm quicker with SS and 29. but my ss has got an EBB and it creaks dreadfully. I've replaced it with a carver which is not much better.
It's amazing just how well single speeds climb.
